I want to make a backup of all the posts presented on my blog. Just in case – I would not want to lose it.

The question is – where can I find it ? I copied all folders and files from my wordpress folder on server to my hard disc. Than I searched the files with Windows searcher looking for the text phrases from my posts. Not the names – the data inside the files. And nothing. I dont need all others files, like templates, just need the text of my posts.

Where is this contents saved ? Which directory ?

  • You have a few different options.

    1. You can use the export feature under tools and export all your post.

    2. Or you can install a wordpress plugin that will backup your mysql database and email it to you.

Your files on the server are only the skeleton of the websites, the look and feel. You content is in your mysql database.
