Dashboard Screen Options Not Working

    Running WordPress 4.2.2 with Askimet 3.1.1.

    Went to change a “Screen Option” on the dashboard and nothing happened when I clicked the button. Same with the help button. They do work on all other screens. I proceeded to go through the usual trouble shooting steps and the only thing that resolves the issue is turning off the Askimet plug-in. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the plugin with no success.

    Suggestions?

    Hi Bob,

    Still having trouble with this? We released a new version of the plugin, can you try updating to the latest?

    I have updated to version 3.1.2 and unfortunately issue still remains. Deactivating Akismet still resolves the problem.

    @bobwadd: I’ve seen similar problems in the past that were caused by a conflict between Akismet and another plugin. What other plugins are you running?

    I tried the deactivate/activate routine this time while leaving Akismet running. Unfortunately with the same results. The only time the issue goes away is when I disable Akismet.

    One other issue that is tied to this problem is that the “WordPress News” no longer loads when Akismet is activated.

    Again, these issue only appear on the dashboard screen. OTher screen are fine.

    @bobwadd: Been a while, still having trouble? If so, and when you have a chance, can you try enabling debug on your site, and send us the logfile here?

    Problem appears resolved with last nights update to WP 4.2.3. I supposed it’s possible this just cleaned up my WP installation.
