Dashboard problems in chrome and firefox

I am using wordpress 2.9 in Google Chrome. When I am in my dashboard, most of what I see is just a series of links, boxes, etc. I had a friend test it in Firefox and we got the same thing.

When I open it up in IE, however, I get lots of pretty formatting, I can move the modules around, etc. We both have javascript enabled. Does the WP dashboard only function in Firefox?

    Thanks,

I am additionally now having issues in IE. Though the boxes seem to function, some things are not working. For example, in the pages part, when I try to switch to the html editing, nothing happens. Similarly, when I try to click the screen options tab, or when I try to toggle something, neither function. There is no error, simply nothing happens.

    Halp!
