# Dashboard problem

 * Along with my problems with RSS feeds, I noted that I also get an error on the
   Dashboard, ‘Other WordPress News,
 * RSS Error: file_get_contents could not read the file
 * I assume it’s connected to the RSS mess.

 * Hi,
 * Check with these options:
 * -> Disable All the plugins and have a check and enable them one by one to find
   out the culprit.
    -> Upgrade your wordpress to the latest version -> Check the
   file permissions of your blog folder and it should be 644.

 * Shane,
    Done all that and my problems only started when I ‘upgraded’, first to
   2.8.1 (abandoned that one) and then finally 2.8.2 as I figured they’d gotten 
   the worst bugs out. how wrong can you be?
 * The worst of it is trying to get some kind of response, I had a mess of RSS feeds
   installed that I know readers use and I also now have no Facebook or Twitter 
   Feed, can’t install KB Advance RSS and the author has abandoned it!

 * Re the WordPress News Feed (via the Dashboard), the problem is that there is 
   no RSS URL! Anybody know what it is please?
