Check your browser console to see if you have static resource 404’s in the dashboard. Also, check your server error logs.

I am also facing similar issues with my website. Admin dashboard is very slow, specially when i want to edit the posts. Sometimes it takes minutes and throws internal server error.

I disabled all the plugins and tested but the same issue. In my error logs I get this error

mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 45 seconds
Premature end of script headers: post.php, referer: http://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?wp-post-new-reload=true

How Can I resolve these errors. These errors get popped up only when I am adding a new post or editing previous posts. And I get “500 internal server error”

    can someone help please?

@logicalreviews – are you getting those errors on all your sites or just the domain mapped ones?

those errors are in the website server logs. The site works fine. The issue are mentioned below

    1) the admin dashboard is very slow.
    2) editing a post or updating a post takes lot of time and most of the time throws 500 internal server error
    3) categories shows “page not found error” this error is not consistent

I am scared. I feel my site will crash soon and will be of no use sooner or later.my website is logicalmoviereviews.com . I am hosting on godaddy VPS so there is no bandwidth issue. other websites on the same server works fine (they dont use wordpress though).

Please guide me. will updating the wordpress core help me?

    thanks in advance

Yes, you should be using the latest version of WordPress.

On the sites where the dashboard is very slow – Is it all dashboards or just the domain mapped ones?

All the dashboards/any admin page on the mapped ones. The sites that are not mapped all load without issue.

You’ll have to try deactivating one plugin at a time to see if you have one that’s not compatible with Domain Mapping. The only time I’ve seen that Premature end of script error was a incompatibility between a plugin and the PHP version.

I have similar problem immediately after updating to WP 4.6.1 – started a topic here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/post-and-page-editing-extremely-slow-after-updating-to-wordpress-4-6-1/

In WP Admin, editing/adding any Post/Page is extremely slow, literally takes 3-5 min. No errors displayed. The rest of Admin (menus, settings, etc.) seems Ok, even a bit quicker than before the WP update. On the public side, everything loads quickly. Seems to be a bug with WP 4.6.1 – has it been TESTED?

    Can anyone help?

Found it – it’s this plugin:
Markething.Me – Free Social Media Auto Submitter
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/markethingme-free-social-media-auto-submitter/
    Deactivating it fixed my problem..
