[Resolved] Dashboard No Longer Formatted after update to 2.8.4

  • I have three different directories with three different blogs. When I upgraded to 2.8.4 the Dashboard on the 2 blogs in directories other than the wordpress directory were no longer formatted though they all now say they are running version 2.8.4. The Dashboard in the wordpress directory looks like this while the other two Dashboards now look like this.

Before the upgrade they all were formatted like the wordpress directory version.

I tried updating the css file wp_admin.css and all the css files in the CSS directory but that didn’t help.

What do I have to do to restore the Dashboards to the formatted versions?

Have you tried deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

I deactivated all plugins and actually deleted all the files in the plugins directory but it made no difference.

    Try:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

The first 2 suggestions didn’t do anything and the third made it so I can no longer log in. It tells me the username and/or password are invalid.

The problem was with the wp_config.php file. I fixed that and all is well now. Thanks
