We just switched our site from being administered by a web hosting company to doing it ourselves. The hosting company always had the site locked down so tight that even though I had administrator privileges, I couldn’t update WP, plugins, modify the theme or anything.
They have now, in their words, moved the site to a new server and given me full administrative control. There are a couple of things missing though. Only the incoming links displays on the dashboard. “Right now” and some of the other options I have access to on other WP installations I manage are not even available to select on the screen options pulldown. Also, the Posts sub-menu is not even available in the left sidebar.
Is there somewhere in the settings that these are turned off or on or do I have to edit something in the underlying site code?
