I had major failure issues when updating with 3.6 and eventually got my site back online after loading WP with no plugins (via FTP). Now, I’m up and running, just needing to activate those plugins one at a time I suppose, but I have two big questions:

    1. I don’t know which plugin caused the implosion of my site when I made the update last week. If I reactivate it, will I experience the same problem?

    2. I’m one of the FEW I think, that actually liked the new look for the Dashboard and the new interface that went with it. With this re-install and update to 3.6, I’m back to the “old” Dashboard. How can I get the newer one back?

My url is http://dschurchofchrist.com. Everyone that answers in this forum is so helpful. Thanks.

Possibly – but no way to know without trying them one by one.

If, by new Dashboard, do you mean the MP6 plugin? You can reactivate that plugin and get it back…

MP6, Yes! That was it. Once I started reactivating plugins and saw the NexGen slideshow plugin, I thought I remembered reading somewhere, that was the problem. I don’t know if it makes any difference that I have WP updated before activating it; if the problem before, was WP trying to update with NexGen already active, but I’ll give it a try. Thanks so much!

NextGen is having many problems with THEIR update of last week. So you may want to have a look at their forums here:

You can rollback a version if you updated that plugin – see:

As I went back and looked, it appears that I had NexGen installed, but not active. I was using the Genesis Responsive Slider for featured images. So, I’ll just delete NexGen for now. Thanks for you help.
