Dashboard Incoming Links

  • In the Dashboard, there’s an Incoming Links section. I’ve noted that most of the links in my list seem to be spam, as when I go to their sites, I can’t find anything that links back to my weblog.

My question – and forgive me if it has been answered before – is if I can somehow block these links and/or remove them? If so, what are my options?

    Thanks in advanced!

  • Those links have reached your blog by abusing access logs of your website. Only way to rectify those links is to add additional coding in your blog to verify the existing of your link on the links shown in admin section of wordpress and disapprove the bad links.

ppl have scriptson their websites to verify if link partners are linking back or not. I think this concept can be impleted in wordpress blog.

    Well… no.

Those links come from technorati.com and are sites that have a link to your blog *somewhere* on them. Yes, often for page rank farming.

Are they harmful? Not to my knowledge.
Have they exploited your code? no.

I had the same problem myself sigh. 🙁 I had to email technorati.com support, directly..and they seemed to have removed the “links” I thought were “spam” related. 😉 Maybe you should try that as well then.. even though it took a couple of days before it was done.. but hey.. it’s done atleast..
