    Hello everybody,

Newbee to WP, I installed wordpress 3.4.1 locally today. Everything went fine.

    The public interface is OK.
But apart from the dashboard home page, which is normally styled, all the links from that admin home page open admin pages which lack styling, as you can see on the image header at ilefort.wordpress.com

I have no idea which css controls these admin pages; I seems that the functionnalities are there, but difficult to read and reach.

Could the problem come from different instances that I installed (French and Englis versions) ? I may have forgotten to modify the table prefix in the wp-config.php file.

Could you give me a hint ? Thanks in advance.

    Hello me again,

After reinstalling MAMP and WordPress again, restarting the computer, I still have the same problem with the dashboard.

Mamp is fine, it let me create a db for WordPress, and I name the db accordingly in wp-config.php.

Funny thing is, I installed Joomla for a test, and there, no problem: front and back sites are both working et displaying fine locally.

Could there be a problem with the package I downloaded (wordpress-3.4.1-fr_FR.zip and wordpress-3.4.1.zip) ??? Anyone is experiencing this at all ?

    Hello all,

I fixed the problem, and it’s not the package (of course) :
I just emptied Mozilla Firefox cache !

What baffled me is that I made several installs of mamp and wordpress, and Firefox kept loosing the css of the dashboard pages, as if requesting the very same page, whatever name the db and the site…
Maybe someone can explain why, for future understanding.

I don’t know the reasons but thanks for the solution!

    Add this to wp-config.php

    define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false );

Big thanks to @valentin88. I have seen this issue a few times on my local install and your define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false ); worked great to fix this. Thanks a ton. Annoying when that happens.
