    Hi, will try and get straight to it.

    Using:
    Godaddy paid hosting
    5.0 / linux
    Dreamweaver
    Mac (latest version)

    Had my blog all up and running nice. Then read an article suggesting i should just change the name of my root folder from wordpress to blog (to do with security).

    I did this and updated the links, but my blog screwed up. So changed the name back to wordpress and the blog was back fine – except the dashboard is now messed up. Everything else displays fine with the blog itself.

    Then i noticed in the godaddy ‘my applications’ panel, that the url still displays my blog as http://www.example.com/BLOG , when i guess it should be http://www.example.com/WORDPRESS.

    Where can i edit the url inside godaddy to match the correct URL? I guess this is at the root of the problem and is causing the patch update unable to load in.

  • I suggest you add the lines directly into the wp-config.php file. That will override the database settings.

    define('WP_SITEURL', 'http://example.com/wordpress');
    define('WP_HOME', 'http://example.com/wordpress');

    Thanks for the tip, but that hasn’t fixed it unfortunately.

    Is my only option left to re install now? Thought there might be an option inside Godaddy to change the ftp path but can’t see anything.

    Thought I’d bump this to see if anyone knows if this can be edited inside Godaddy, or a re install is on the cards.

    Thanks..

    Did a fresh install and all OK
