  • If you just want to get rid of the dashes in your titles (without really figuring out yet why they’re happening) you could download SEO Ultimate, then go to the settings for re-writing titles, and in one page, you can quickly edit all your titles (take out the dashes) and save.

From there the dashes will be gone, and you don’t have to do it page by page – and then thereafter you can try to recreate the problem again to see why it’s happening…

    Good luck

If you publish a new page now you have disabled the duplicate post plugin does a dash appear in this new pages title?

OK Done that and it seems to work – as if I open the source code now there is no dash, even though google still showing a dash, but guess that could take months to update.

    Thanks for that

Interestingly No the dash is still there. When I added a new page the title contained no dash, however when I added a title in the Product page, the dash re-appears although it does not show as having one in the source code – baffled now !

Does the dash actually appear in the product page title in the backend or does it only appear on the front end? I would reckon that it’s not showing in the source code because your SEO plugin is taking it out.

I’m sure you have but have you checked the settings in Settings/General/Site Title ?

The dash only appears at the front end of the product page title, and I have just disabled the SEO Ultimate plug in and added a new product page and it still appears on google but not in the source code.

As far as the Settings/General/Site Title ? yes checked this and this seems fine.

Am away till Monday so will get back to it then , but thank you for all your help
