Support » Plugin: Multi-column Tag Map » Danish letters ÆØÅ

  • Hi and thanks for a great plugin 🙂

The 3 last letters in the Danish alphabet are Æ Ø Å (slug: AE OE AA).

I am very glad that yuor plugin sorts by “name”, but somehow the listing on the page ends with Å Æ Ø. So I need the Å to be last.

    Is that possible?

    Thank you 🙂

    Good Day,
I am looking into something for this. Being the holidays it might be a few days before I can get something working.

    Thank you very much 🙂

    Looking forward to the solution.

Just adding a note that I haven’t forgotten this and I am looking into the most practical solution.

    Thanks 🙂

I am looking forward to getting the update.

I will be using the plugin on quite a few websites and all are in Danish.

    Hi tugbucket,
I don’t know how much it would slow down the output, but maybe an option to specify the correct order would be the best solution. As you can see in the linked image, there is significant difference between the current output and the correct order. The upper row is what the plugin outputs now, and the lower one is the correct Hungarian order (ignore the s with the hacek, that is a Czech word, not Hungarian). Some of the accented characters are in the same category as the non accented characters, but some of them are entirely different. There are also some letters which are made of two (or more) characters, and they are further back in the ordering.

Looking forward to an update so I can use the dynamic output of the plugin, because right now I am using a static page where I corrected the order manually.

@schs can you link me to your page where you are manually sorting?

I thought I almost had a good solution for this using Danish as the example, then I saw the Hungarian alphabet and threw me a curve ball.

Still working on a solution to accommodate a wider language set.

    Thanks, tugbucket 🙂

    @tugbucket here it is:
    https://rollingtons.hu/targymutato/
And that’s not even all the letters that we have! 🙂 For example we have fun things like dz and dzs, and ly, ty, zs 😀
    I found this complete list on stackoverflow: A=Á, B, C, CS, D, DZ, DZS, E=É, F, G, GY, H, I=Í, J, K, L, LY, M, N, NY, O=Ó, Ö=Ő, P, Q, R, S, SZ, T, TY, U=Ú, Ü=Ű, V, W, X, Y, Z, ZS

In my case I also have one tag that starts with a czech character, and that would be outside of the hungarian order, that is why I suggested the use of custom, user defined rules.
And before I forget it: thank you for you work!

@schs @twolle would you two be willing to shoot me an email at tugbucket at gmail.com? Ill send you a link to an updated plugin to test out. Also it would help me in trying to write up some instructions.

    Yes, sure 🙂

Just sent you a mail. Thank you.
