• At first glance, this plugin gives the impression of functioning reliably—streamlining search and replace operations with apparent precision. However, this initial confidence quickly unravels. Beneath its polished exterior lies a deeply flawed mechanism that silently introduces widespread and irreversible damage to your site.

While the plugin is designed to be powerful and precise, it’s true that with great power comes great responsibility. That’s why we clearly state in several places — including the plugin interface and documentation — that it should only be used after taking a full backup, especially when using advanced features like regex or global replacements.

We also offer a dry-run mode and undo functionality specifically to prevent irreversible changes. These tools are in place to help users safely preview and roll back replacements before committing to them.

That said, your experience highlights just how important it is for us to continue improving the safety net and messaging around these features. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to make things clearer and more robust moving forward.

If you’re open to it, we’d love to hear more about what happened and see if there’s anything we can do to help.

    Thanks,
    Krasen
