    Hi ekhooo,
Thanks for writing. You should not have to click update. Have you tried importing the sample files in the plugins /csv-examples directory? If so, what happened? If not, you should try that first.

    Let me know.

the example file works, I didnt have all the fields listed. I didnt think you need to have all the fields in the upload file? I’ll have to try with some of the fields empty with the example format. Thanks

ok, I put in my data into the example cvs and the data doesnt show up on the roster, says no one in the team, but when you look in the all players section, it shows them to be the team? any ideas? which is weird cause the example data showed up when I entered it in the first time. maybe something weird going on with empty fields??

Where is the data being saved?

    Hi eckhooo,
I don’t believe you need all the fields. In fact, I believe it’s pretty flexible, one of the first or last names should do it. I just tested a file that look like this:

    First Name
    Mark

It imported just fine. So I’m not sure what the problem is.

As for ‘data not showing up’, I’m not quite sure what you mean by the following:

the data doesnt show up on the roster, says no one in the team, but when you look in the all players section, it shows them to be the team?

Are you saying that the imported data looks good in the All Players screen, but it doesn’t show up on a page with the shortcode? If I have that right, my first guess would be the shortcode incantation is not right. You can double check against some examples on my plugin development site and you can read the documentation on shoalsummitsolutions.com.

    Let me know.

Yes, that is exactly the issue. the data is in the All Players screen and not showing up in the short code, but if I go edit the record from the All Players screen it shows up in the short code. So the record only shows up in the short code only after I click update after viewing/editing it in the All Players section. So does that prove that it the short code is working as it should? I dont change the short code. It almost like if the Team isnt truely assigned to the record until the update button is clicked on the record, if that makes any sense? any Ideas?

Hummmm… that’s strange. It seems like something is up with the Teams & their slugs.

Are you selecting the right team when you import the CSV file?

Are you sure you are selecting the same team (slug) in the shortcode?

After upload, edit a player. What’s in the Teams metabox on the right?

Where do you select the team when you import? I have the team slug creatd and I assume it auto selects the team. I only have 1 team.

The team name does appear on the right side under Teams.

At the top of the CSV roster import there is a pull-down menu of your teams. Select one before importing. (It really should not let the import proceed with a team selected. I’ll add that to the bug list.)

ah..ok thats prob where my mistake is… thanks for your help!!!!

hmmm…ok so it defaults to the only Team I have created..? so that cant be it??? right?? so I dont think there’s a bug.

    Hi ekhooo,
I don’t follow the last two posts. Did you find the mistake or not? Do you think there’s a bug or not?

The shortcode does not default to the only team you created. I think it MAY default to team=1, IF I haven’t removed that yet. Its a remnant of days-gone-by that’s sorta nonsense now.

    Let me know.

I have 1 team created, which when I go to import, in the drop down it shows the team I have created, so I dont think its leaving it blank. I wasnt choosing the team, just it was already showing in the drop down so I didnt have to choose it.

I thought because I didnt choose the team when I went to import, it was leaving it blank which cause the record not to show up in the short code which makes sense then because I would click update in the record which by clicking update assigns the team to the record in turn it then would show up on the roster. I never altered the shortcode and so why will it show up only after clicking update on the record?

So I havent found an error, but I still have to click update for the record to show in the short code.

Hummm, that’s interesting. I should default to the only team when there is only one. Could be a subtle bug that shows the default team but doesn’t store it. Could you please create a second team and import to it? Let me know what happens.
Thanks for helping me with this one.

same thing occurs. I created a new team, uploaded a new cvs choosing the second team. After the upload, the new record shows that the record is on the new team but doesnt show up in the short code for the new team. I then went to edit the new record and just clicked update and then it shows up in the short code.
