I have installed and set up buddypress on my site.

After uploading the avatar i am suppose to crop the image but the image to be cropped becomes very tiny making it impossible to crop.

I activated twenty fifteen theme and it showed fine over there. I am thinking it has to do with the customizr theme but with my low knowledge in coding, am not able to fix it.

    Please help.

  • Hi,
I did not encounter this issue on my local installation (Customizr version 3.4.16 and Buddypress version 2.4.3). I registered on your site and found that there is indeed an issue. What is your version?
Could it be that some other plugin is interfering?

    Thanks for your reply.

I am using Customizr Version: 3.4.16 and Buddypress Version 2.4.3.

I deactivated all other plugins but nothing changed.

    Hi,
I could replicate the problem in another installation. Tagged it to the developers for resolution.

    Hello Coach,
for the moment try disabling the img smartload option.
Appearance -> Customize -> Advanced Options -> Website Performances -> Load images on scroll.

    Hi d4z,
I am not sure about Coach’s site. But to verify, I did that. Yes, it solves the issue partially.
On the installation where there was an issue, I found that disabling this option, makes the image appear in its full size. But the cropping tool is not to be seen.
    Any ideas?

    Hello Menaka,
    thanks for the feedback. 😉
Yes I see your problem, wasn’t able to reproduce it on my local site.
Anyway in that environment it’s due to W3TC.
I cleaned its cache, disabled it and (keeping the smartload option disabled) I can see the cropping tool.
    Do you?

    Perfect d4z.
Thanks. Hope this helps Coach too!

    Thanks for your responses.

Load images on scroll was checked, i emptied all cache and deactivated the W3TC plugin but, sorry, it didn’t change anything.

Actually, that issue has frustrated me to resort to disabling avatar upload. Instead, i have installed a plugin that uses username initials as avatar by default.

I am waiting for the issue to be resolved, then i would allow avatar upload (preferred).

Glad you guys are around to help.

    Was checked?
    You should “uncheck” it.

for the moment try disabling the img smartload option.

    ‘Cause that generates the issue.

    Wooow, it works now.

    Guess i can activate W3TC now, or … ?

I am so glad and grateful.

    Glad you solved.
Yeah from the theme point of view enabling or not w3tc isn’t a problem, it’s a matter of buddypress scripts + w3tc (once your cache is clean so that you’re sure the page loaded isn’t running the smartload).

Anyway this issue will be fixed (99%) in the next theme release.

    Glad you solved

    That will be great

    Glad to hear.

    Hello Coach,
the compatibility issue has been fixed in the upcoming release. 😉
    Bests.
