# Customizing test email content?

 * When I send a test email, is there any way to change the body text? I just wanna
   make sure my filters aren’t accidentally marking standard SMTP tests as spam 
   before I go live with the client.

 * I apologize, the built-in “Email Test” feature is a hardcoded diagnostic tool
   designed specifically to verify your mail server configuration, so its text content
   and layout cannot be directly edited.
 * While you cannot edit the text, you can change how the diagnostic test behaves:
    - Go to **WP Mail SMTP** > **Tools** > **Email Test**.
    - Change the recipient in the **Send To** field.
    - Toggle the **HTML** button off if you want to test how your server handles**
      Plain Text** emails.
 * And, if you want to use your own body text, you can instead do tests using a 
   form plugin like- [WPForms](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpforms-lite/). Here
   are the simple steps-
    - Create a simple contact form using **WPForms** and set your email address 
      in the [notification](https://wpforms.com/docs/setup-form-notification-wpforms/).
    - Preview the form and type your custom test message into the form notification
      settings.
    - Submit and test.
