# Customizing Templates

 * I see the following note at the top of the single and list templates. However
   I am not sure where I am to place them within my theme if I would like to customize
   them.

 * Just copy it to your theme or child-theme folder. Don’t place them in a sub-folder.
   Make a small change at first to confirm that you placed the template in the correct
   place.

 * Sorry I misread you answer. I placed them in the theme folder and it worked.
