# Customizing Post Entry Header

 * I am in the process of customizing the twentythirteen wordpress theme to my liking/
   needs. I want to customize the header (position, size, etc) for all post entries
   but have been unsuccessful in locating the corresponding CSS. Please help.

 * Do not edit the Twenty Thirteen theme. It is the current default WordPress theme
   and having access to an original, unedited, copy of the theme is vital in many
   situations. First [create a child theme for your changes](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).
   Or install a [custom CSS plugin](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=custom+css).

 * Esmi: Thanks for the tip. I edit locally before I make any changes. The distance
   between the header and the first post on my “news” page is larger than those 
   of my pages (Home, Discography, Singles). Any idea how to fix this issue?

 * I’m sorry but no one here is going to help you edit the current default WordPress
   theme. Create a child theme.

 * You can go and edit your css file.
    Making child themes is more of a waste of
   time and making more work for the ones who want to code but why?
 * Pick the issue with firebug and go and edit this file to make css changes .
