Customizing Plugin

  • I’ve just installed the WP MediaTagger and I really like the way it works.

I just wondered, if I start customizing things, for example, the text in the search box reads ‘Search attachment like . . .’ is there a way to do this so that updates to the plugin won’t overwrite my changes? I’m familiar with ‘child-themes’ but I understand that you can’t make ‘child-plug ins.’

There are some other bits of the plug in, the way it displays (beyond CSS styling), that I want to change. I just wondered if you had advice for doing that so it doesn’t get broken by updates.

    (WP MediaTagger 3.2 | PHP 5.4.4 | MySQL 5.5.25 | GD Lib bundled (2.0.34 compatible))

No customization is possible – the solution is to change the code, and report the change in case you decide you later upgrade.
