Customizing page (evolve theme)

  • I’ve created a site at http://www.theleanconsultinggroup.com . I’d like to have the comments box removed on the “pages”, but not on the blog posts (of course) – by “removed” I mean removed completely, not even the “Commenting is disabled” visible. I’d also like to have the title removed on some of the pages as well (like the “Home” page, only reason it has a title is so that “Home” can appear in the page navigation).

I gather that the way for me to do this is to create a custom template and use that for the pages that I want things removed on (assuming that custom templates can be used with evolve), and the way I gather that is done is taking the php from page.php and altering it and saving it as the new template. I don’t know, however, what directory page.php is stored in! (Once I figure that out, I think I can do this.

Advice is appreciated. (Quick advice is appreciated more, as the client wants this live by the week’s end)

  • I would also like to do this. Has anyone figured out how to accomplish this?

Hi, just go to index.php and comment out or delete the first <?php comments_template( ”, true ); ?> from the bottom (page section it is)
    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

Sorry for the offtopic but I’m desperate here. @dhkendall how did you get the logo/header to fit all the screen width? If I upload a cuatom logo/header I got a white space on both sides of the header.

    Thank you
