I want to know or if I can customise my Mailpoet forms….there is some stuff on the Mailpoet site, but I need more information…

I have Mailpoet installed on a separate wordpress install in a subdomain, and I use the mailpoet email subscribe forms on a different wordpress install, on another subdomain using the Iframe code that Mailpoet provide.

I use WordPresses twentytwelve theme. Nice and simple.

And all of that works fine.

But I want to customize the forms a lot more than I can at the moment….

Firstly I’d like at least two forms, one that has the email entry on the same line as the subscribe button

And one that has email entry above the subscribe button (Mailpoet already provide this)

I want to also increase the height of the email entry, so that it’s the same height as the subscribe button

And I want to change the lengths too, so that hey are both the same height and the same length.

(at the moment they are different lengths and different heights, and it looks messy.)

Obviously this will be CSS, but I don’t know exactly where to look and I’m not sure if it’s possible to create different forms and have different CSS apply to them in order to change their format.

Thanks in advance for any help….and sorry for the long post!!

I’ve sorted most of this out now…..but I have one problem remaining…..

So first of all I used this page to sort most issues out…

    https://support.mailpoet.com/knowledgebase/design-style-subscription-form-widget-shortcode/

So, I now have all the CSS changes in the iframe.css file as per Mailpoets instructions….and it works fine.

    BUT….I still have this problem….

I can create lots of different forms that link to different lists within Mailpoet, and I use Iframe to display the forms on my website.

But for all my different forms, there is only the one set of CSS styling that applies to all of those forms.

I want to create unique CSS styling for each form. (At least two different forms.)

    Is that possible?

    Thanks anyone out there…in advance.

    Hi,

The only way to have forms with multiple styles is to manually modify the HTML of the form and give it a separate ID/class, then target that ID/class with CSS.

You can get a HTML version of a form under MailPoet > Settings > Forms.

    Thanks!

I access a Mailpoet form from a different WordPress install, so I use Iframes to display the form.

You only mention HTML with no mention of Iframes…..so given my limited knowledge of this issue…….I have no idea if you are addressing my specific problem or not.

The danger is, that if I investigate further with the very limited info you have given me….I may end up spending days ‘fixing’ this, only to realise that it’s technically impossible.

I think the best solution for me is a hosted service like Mailchimp, as that will allow me to access one Mailchimp account from different wordpress installs.

    Hi,

Sorry for the confusion. If you want to modify the iFrame, you’ll need to use the iframe.css file as mentioned. However, there is no way to have multiple versions of the iFrame.

If you want to have multiple form styles, you’ll need to add a DIV with a specific class and use local CSS on each of the separate DIVs. You will need to know how to use CSS in order to do this.

    Does that help?

I did some more research and decided to use the services of Sendinblue, which is a hosted service and better suited to the way that I use WordPress.
