Customizing Bookings timeslots/available times/blocks/start tim programmatically

I find Bookings module rather confusing. Filters/hooks allow to change available times on product page for Bookings products that have duration unit of hour. However, if availability is changed via code it won’t accept these available times.

For example a Bookings product with duration of 12 hours has only two available times 00:00 and 12:00 (depending on star time settings). These can be altered via code (specifi filter) but if end user selects something other than 00:00 or 12:00 from available times it will be rejected.

Why does it allow to change times if it won’t accept them in the end?
There’s no way to alter validation which is quite problematic.

I need to have a system which would allow Booking to start at customer preferred time but currently Bookings is timeslot or prefixed timeslot oriented and won’t allow this.
