# Customizing Archives

 * Hi Everyone,
 * I would like to customize my archives page ([http://www.pxleight.com/archives/](http://www.pxleight.com/archives/))
   in the following way:
 * December 2006
    Dec 2 – A Post Redux Dec 1 – A Post
 * November 2006
    Nov 30 – Hello World
 * I did some searching around and found
 * [http://wordpress.org/support/topic/86806](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/86806)
 * but I couldn’t get my head around it for it to make any sense. Perhaps someone
   can guide me here and tell me what I need to do?

 * Nevermind, got it. I used [http://justinblanton.com/projects/smartarchives/](http://justinblanton.com/projects/smartarchives/)
   and hacked the PHP around to get the desired effect.

 * And another question… how do i do the same thing with Categories?
 * For instance:
 * Category 1
    Dec 2 – A Post Redux Dec 1 – A Post
 * Category 2
    Nov 30 – Hello World
