• I just installed WordPress 4.0 off of a fresh install at my site using a Softaculous script. My site is hosted by NameCheap. Even after doing nothing at all (no themes, no plugins added, etc) when I go to the Customizer panel, I have the pane on the left with all of my options, but no preview of what will happen at all.

In fact, it is an empty div: <div id=”customize-preview” class=”wp-full-overlay-main”></div>

I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled WordPress once. I am running the 2014 theme, though I had also had the issue with a variety of other themes.

  • This happened to me too. All themes. Multisite subdomain install.

Development system was not affected and it is also upgraded to 4.0 although the customizer does load slowly and often gives a little error message at first – “save failed….” but the message doesn’t last long enough to read it in full.

Can someone help with this? I don’t know if I should switch hosting or if I should install some other blogging platform.
