customizer doesn’t load from Live Preview and Appearance

    Upgraded to WP 4.9.5 and customizer no longer works. I tried all suggestions (deactivated plugins, only have 6), tried using Twenty Seventeen, Twenty Sixteen and others, tried different browsers, cleared cache/cookies. Nothing works. Tried to upload new theme and that doesn’t work either. Checked for malware, all removed by host and even upgraded plan to better server with upgraded WP. Using Metric Child Theme with Genesis framework, StudioPress says it should work but doesn’t. I am not comfortable changing code in .php files that I read is a fix but doesn’t say where to put the fix. Please help. I need to add logo and change some of the front page text but can’t without the customizer. I use Edge and IE 10 browsers. I read other customizer issues on the forum but I do not see any fixes that relate to my specific issues.

    I think there is a problem with 4.9.5 and the media-element part of the Javascript.
    You might want to revert to 4.9.4.
