Support » Theme: OceanWP » Customizer can’t call any Templates

  • Hi! I’ve created a Footer template using Elementor for my OceanWP site. The Template shows in My Templates when editing pages with Elementor and also in Dashboard – Templates – Saved Templates.

However when in Customize – Footer Widgets – Select Template -> No templates show up! The drop down is empty with only the “-Select-” text showing.

There is no Theme Panel nor a My Library.
Footer widgets are enabled in Customize – Footer Widgets.
I have created several Templates, none of them show up in Customizer.
I have even given my Footer Template the tag <footer> in Elementor.

From what I see in comments on YouTube tutorials and other forums I am not the only one with this problem. But so far I haven’t been able to find any solution that wouldn’t include installing another plugin. Please, help!

  • NVM, found the answer! To anyone struggling with this:

To be able to use a template in Customize or have content that also updates to every page where it’s used when the template in question is being edited, you have to create the template in Theme Panel – My Library – Add New. And also edit it there. This is a separate location from Templates – Add New/ Saved Templates or My Templates.

You can find Theme Panel listed LAST in the Dashboard. (I could swear it wasn’t there half an hour ago…) And My Library can be found under Theme Panel.

Glad to hear it is fixed and thank you for sharing the solution here.
