 * So, I’ll be outsourcing development of website to a designing company and development
   company (2 separate companies each).
 * Question is, how would I be sure that they won’t take my customized website idea(
   once it’s finished development-wise) and sell it to the public people?
 * Thanks.

 * Given that all themes are released under GPL, there is not a lot you can do about
   this – other than discuss it with your chosen developers.

 * You could just pay the designing company a wee bit more
 * Let’s say $1,000 for a non-exclusive theme. $3,000 for exclusive theme.

 * Thank you for your input but I afraid it’s really not appropriate to discuss
   design costings here.

 * Those numbers were just examples, I have no idea how much he is paying. He could
   offer more for exclusivity.

 * I do appreciate that but this line of discussion is not appropriate for these
   forums.

 * Yea, but what I meant was how would I know – like, what sorta documents should
   I be getting that proves that I have the right to that customized theme?
 * Cost of designing and development aside that is.

 * There’s things like NDA’s, commercial greements, etc, but without knowing a whole
   lot more about your business, where you’re located, who you’re dealing with,
   where they’re located, etc, etc, etc… this is not the place for asking that sort
   of question.
 * What you need to do is bite the bullet and spend the money to see a real copyright
   lawyer that can give you a real answer to your questions and tell you what you
   should and should not do.
 * Don’t ever take legal advice from an internet forum… it’s not worth the paper
   it’s writen on (sarcastic, but true).
