Customize website field display

    How do I extract out only the URL from the website field without including that URL as the link text so I can replace that text with something like Visit Website? Not having much luck with the example field id template in the customization guide. Thanks in advance

    There is a setting in the Form Field settings that will replace that URL with text — is that what you need? If so, we would like to troubleshoot this issue with you further.

    Hi – thanks for the reply and sorry for my response delay. Yes, I know about the Link Text, I just wanted the grab the Link URL field and skip the text. Would kind of like to use a button style link with “Visit Website” on excerpts, but the Link Text on the full record.

    Thanks for getting back to me on this. It sounds like this may be possible with a template override, but we don’t have specific instructions for doing that. It may require customizing the plugin to get what you need.

    Customizing the plugin comes with its own risks and complications–like the fact that any changes you make can break other aspects of the plugin and any issues you have need to be tested against an unmodified plugin for support.

    Thanks, this isn’t really important enough to customize the plugin. I’ve tried a couple of template overrides, but none of them work quite right. I’ll have to set that Link Text field to my button text.
