Customize Settings not Working – Typography & Footer

Many of the “Customize” changes I make look great in the preview but are not actually publishing to my site.

Most noticeably is the typography and footer widget settings.

Of all the typography setting options, only the Widget changes appear. (I’m trying to make the body font black and make the menu font bigger.)

For the footer widget and bottom, I’ve changed the background colour to white in the customize settings, tried using a template, and tried entering – #footer-widgets {background-color:#ffffff} – in the Customizer CSS/JS editor but it’s still black everytime.

Any thoughts as to why this would be? SUggestions of what else to try?
