Customize Post Display

Dear Smart People,

Need help on what I am sure is a simple fix. I am new to WP and no nothing about PHP so bear with me and be gentle. However, I was married for 20 years so I sure know how to follow directions if you can help. 🙂

Need: Top of the page. I want to keep the title but hide the “comments, the lines, posted by, date, author and category”.

I tried out a few widgets which either did not work at all, or only removed the author name.

I found a widget that allowed me to remove “comments are closed” at the bottom of the page and it worked great.

I have done tons of searching and reading and it seems that code can be added to hide the information. I just to know how, where, or what to change. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
