Customize Permalink Settings For Custom Post Types

How do you customize the Permalink Settings in the admin for custom post types. I see that that woo commerce plugin has added a custom “product” section and also additional fields in the Options section. I do not see any documentation of how to do this?

I am able to modify the archive and taxonomy url slugs and also have plugin settings that allow these slugs to be modified. But there are certain words that collide with WordPress url slugs, for which I give a warning and alert the user to make the necessary changes in the permalink settings. It seem s like putting these options in the permalink setting interface is the way to go (like woo commerce has done) but cannot find any docs on how to do this.
