    Im triing to customize the visualization of the pages widget

    my target is to higlight the .current_page_item a in the sidebar and to remove the link at each top menu item

    i did the first in this way and seam its working:

    .widgetcontent .current_page_item a {
    font-weight: bold;
    color: red !important;
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    but i cant remove the top link, actually i have a # as link but i would remove it all

    Can you give a link to your site?

    Your widget you are using might not attach the right CSS in the output to allow you to target it through CSS.

    Im doing a try in http://searchnfind.it/sito/attivita-servizi/lavori/
    The widget titled Pagine is used just in internal pages, not in homepage

    About the "top-level" link i've to' keep the text, just i've to remove the tag, but probabili its not possible with css..

    ..in internal pages, not in homepage

    Probably a best solution should be' to' create a custom widget saving his code in function.php of the theme, with no problem with WP updating, but its little hard to' me..
