    1) The new customize option is nice, would be good if a link is added to the admin bar of wordpress, so that the user would get a nice experience of customizing it in the frontend.
    2) Also, after saving the customize options, it would be good if it redirects to site rather than to the theme settings page.
    3) Layout options are missing in the customize settings.
    4) cropping settings are not available, as a result the whole image gets displayed( trying uploading a image for header ).

    The THEME customize options? 🙂

These aren’t meant to get everything at once, there’s no enough real estate for that, so some settings will remain ‘advanced’ shall we say.

    1) That is a good idea. Thanks!

    2) We would never take someone out of the dashboard without them explicitly clicking a link intended to do so.

    3) By layout options do you mean theme options screen? Not every screen is in the customizer by default, and it will be up to each theme to decide what options to add.

    4) Yeah, the header section seems fairly broken. Hopefully we can fix all the issues (it also doesn’t remember which images are already uploaded) during beta, but as @ipstenu said, this is really a v1 of this feature, and the full management screens are much better suited to things like full image editing.

    Thanks jane,
    2) my point is in accordance with the first option, when user clicks it from front end, after saving the option he should be redirected to the front end.
    3) At-least we can do it for Theme 2011 | Appearance -> Theme options -> default layout( Content on left , Content on right … etc )

More features, cant wait to see that !!!!

    Hi ezhil,

We’ve added a Customize link into the toolbar. You’re right about redirecting back to the front-end, but at this stage, that likely won’t make it in until 3.5.

We’ve also integrated Twenty Eleven’s theme options into the customizer, so you should be able to change the layout options, color scheme, and link colors in 3.4 as well.

Image handling is still very basic — hopefully that’s another area that will see some improvements come 3.5.
