 * I searched for customising the email message and found a post advising to refer
   to the _Advanced _settings section. However the post is 5 years old now and obviously
   the plug-in has gone through some serious updates and improvements since then.
 * Regrettably I cannot see a way to modify the email message, like a custom footer.
   Am I being silly?
 * Any guidance would be much appreciated!
 * Cheers,

 * Hi nigelpt have you checked the following option **Confirmation email message:**
   under Advanced tab? Is that the message you are referring to?

 * Hi mbrsolution,
 * I was referring to the main outgoing message. Apologies for not clarifying it!
 * I’m looking for an option to say, add a custom header or footer to the main message
   going out to the intended recipient on the “Email to” section in the Basic Settings
   tab.

 * Hi, have you tried to add some custom message in the Email To area?

 * Hi,
 * Looking at the Email area, the only options are;
 * Email To:
    Email Bcc address (optional): Email Subject Prefix: Custom Reply To(
   optional, rarely needed):
 * It seems the “Email to” section is parsed only for email addresses with or without
   names. The Help info suggests only email addresesses and names are acceptable.
 * I should explain that the reason this would be very useful, is because a variety
   of forms are to be set up on a community site, and enable visitors to send mail
   to other indivduals like Mayor, Clerk, etc. all off-site. The recipients really
   need a little more info added to their incoming mail to help them understand!
   Mail sent to me is fine without!

 * Hi nigelpt try the following. For example….
 * For the Email To: add multiple e-mail address as per information found below.
 * > If you add multiple email addresses, a drop down list will be created on the
   > contact form. Each contact can have a name and an email address separated by
   > a comma. Separate each contact by pressing enter. If you need to add more than
   > one contact, follow this example:
   > Email address the messages are sent to (
   > your email). For basic operation, just enter an email address. If you add multiple
   > email addresses, a drop down list will be created on the contact form. Each
   > contact can have a name and an email address separated by a comma. Separate
   > each contact by pressing enter. If you need to add more than one contact, follow
   > this example: If you need to use a comma in the name, escape it with a back
   > slash, like this: \, Webmaster,user1@example.com Sales,user2@example.com
 * Then for the Welcome introduction: add some information related to each e-mail
   address. After add a check-box field or select-multiple field with information
   about each e-mail address again. This means that who ever is sending the message
   through the contact form must also select the corresponding email information
   as well.
 * The above might work.

 * Hi mbrsolution,
 * Many thanks for your expansive reply. It certainly adds to some other aspects
   that I’m looking forward to incorporating.
 * My main problem is finding a way to add text to the actual message sent and therefore
   seen by the Recipient. Unfortunately the Welcome message is seen by the person
   posting the message only, and I cannot find a method of adding a header or footer
   to the message when sent.
 * In order to simplify the process I have created a separate Form for each Recipient,
   so the email address will by default always be correct and the appropriate Welcome
   message displayed.
 * The only option to modify the body of the outgoing message I have so far discovered
   is a checkbox in “Advanced | Advanced Email Settings | Enable sender information
   in email footer.”
 * This adds IP and other info to the bottom of the email, just after a line which
   I cannot seem to find a way of disabling saying “Akismet Spam Check: passed”
 * [ As an aside, sender information is important to me on the Bcc list as Admin,
   but alas will possibly confuse the intended Recipient! ]
 * If the facility for modifying the body of an email could be considered as an
   option for the future it would be a great addition to an unbelievably brilliant
   plug-in.

 * nigelpt, have you tried adding an extra field to the form that would be included
   as an introduction paragraph in the form e-mail message? You could even make
   it hidden or disabled if the person completing the form shouldn’t be able to
   see or edit it.
