• hi i logged into my new wordpress website and in customising-menus-primary menu i am trying to add info like FAQ, contact us etc i write info in the box and press publish but nothing then shows when i click the faq tab or contact us tab. could it be the theme im using cant do that ?? im using ” uptown style”

    if theres any video on youtube showing what should happen if everythings working correctly to do with editing the primary menu please give a link to it or write detailed steps a newbie can understand please

  • You are correct, when you create a menu item in the Customizer it “should” be creating the page for you also.

    Tell me, when you go to your Page area of the admin area, are the pages created?
    If they are there then you might just have to reset your permalinks.
    Settings > Permalinks (just hit the “Save Changes” button on the bottom of the page, you don’t have to change anything)

    If the pages are not there, what happens if you create a “New Page” manually. Give it the same name and path ie /about (permalink). Does the link from the menu work now? If this is the case then something is not working the same with your install. Since I’m assuming you added the site through Godaddy you might want to contact their support for help.

    Let me know what which way it goes.

    hi thanks for reply i did the settings-permalinks save
    then went to my site and see i can now click the contact us button but it shows the generic info ill need to erase and then add my own to eg it shows,,Email

    the info i typed in myself a while ago today hasnt been saved, ill try again in a few hours and let you know what happens, thank you : )

    That’s great! I can see it’s working too! You might have a caching issue on your computer that keeps you from seeing the sites right away.
