 * having some issues with my users access. for some reason customers are restricted
   from opening a ticket

   customer” as this is default on my site. please can you check to see if that 
   works now

 * Did you change the role of my test account to customer? if so, you would need
   to add the support user capabilities for allowing to submit the ticket. For this
   you would need to use the user role editor plugin and then add the support user
   capabilities from the link below yo the customer role:
