    I am using the plugin with Linguini theme. When I activate the plugin a menu item “Customer Reviews” is added to the dashboard. This menu item is overlapping over an existing menu item called “Drinks Menu”. This is a custom taxonomy that is available in the site.
    I would like to cake sure that the menu item does not hide others and if possible change the location all together. how can this be done.

  • I’m not sure how to do it but I am having the same issue as well. When you enable WP Customer Reviews it get’s rid of whatever other menu item is normally in that place.

    Hi,
    Its been 6 months and no reply. Could you please take a look in to this.
    Seems like a problem with add_menu item being hard-coded to a particular location

    Can you give any clarity on why this is happening?

    If you have come across this before how to resolve it.

    Regards

    The problem probably is due to multiple plugins assigning the same position to their menus (in the case of this plugin, “50”). You could try editing the customer reviews plugin file to see if this eliminates the conflict.

    In plugins/wp-customer-reviews/wp-customer-reviews.php line 91, change this:

    add_menu_page('Customer Reviews', 'Customer Reviews', 'edit_others_posts', 'wpcr_view_reviews', array(&$this, 'admin_view_reviews'), $this->getpluginurl() . 'star.png', 50); /* 50 should be underneath comments */

    to this:

    add_menu_page('Customer Reviews', 'Customer Reviews', 'edit_others_posts', 'wpcr_view_reviews', array(&$this, 'admin_view_reviews'), $this->getpluginurl() . 'star.png', '50.7'); /* 50 should be underneath comments, .7 to prevent conflicts  */

    I don’t know if that will actually solve your respective problems since my site doesn’t have this issue with a conflict. The value of “50.7” is random, you could also try “50.5” or whatever to see if that would do it – you just need it to be a unique value. The “50” is probably a popular value for other plugin developers to use in getting their menus positioned in a specific location.

    Thanks for the reply essaysnark. I managed to do this immediately after I posted. I was about to update the same here.
    I changed the value to 58 and it comes just before the Separator before “Appearance”.
