    Hi there,

Since we use the subscription plugin, we decided to test and use this plugin as a PayPal payment gateway.
Looks good and works well, but there is a bug I’d like to point out

In the checkout form, I entered the following information:
    first name: test
    last name: test
    Email: test@test.com

When paying, I used PayPal’s sandbox email.

However, after checking the order, I noticed that the user’s profile had changed.

    first name: john
    last name: doe
    Email: Same as sandbox email

Could you explain why the order’s user information was changed?

    Thanks
    Ali Fallah

    Hi @alifallahrn

However, after checking the order, I noticed that the user’s profile had changed.

Are you referring to the shipping address first and last name? If so that’s expected behavior if you changed the shipping address info in the PayPal popup window.

The plugin will always use the shipping info provided by PayPal if the customer made a change in the PayPal popup. That’s because the customer is communicating that they want to use a new set of shipping info.

    Thanks,

    Hi @mrclayton

    Thanks for the quick reply

Are you referring to the shipping address first and last name?

No, I’m talking about changing billing information

I would appreciate if you could give me your e-mail address so that I can send the test video and more precisely describe its behavior.

    Thanks

    Hi @alifallahrn

The plugin is designed to only change the billing first and last name if those values are empty. If they already have values, the plugin won’t change them. It sounds like there might be a theme conflict or something causing the default behavior to change.

    Hi @mrclayton

I sent you a video via the contact form
Could you please check and let me know what you think?

    Thanks

Setting to resolved. In the next release, when a billing agreement is used, the checkout page entries will take precedence over the billing details returned by PayPal.

That is already the default behavior for payments that don’t require a billing agreement.
