• Yes I am a newbie, moving from squarespace to wordpress, squarespace was to limited to what I need my website to be able to do. Trying to figure out how to have users upload their photo and videos to my site. Would like to have each user with a unique user credentials their email and customer id# which i provide them. When they login to their dashboard have a few tabs they can choose from, one being MY Files this is where they can upload and view their media, to be able to comment on their photos, arrange photos in order which they would like displaced, i build them slideshows, arranger in order not necessary unless easy to do.I’m sure theirs a plugin or something that may do this for me, but again i’m a newbie and looking for some guidance. thanks

  • Hello and welcome to the WordPress community! We are always here to help.

As I am sure you are aware wordpress has a login/signup feature out of the box. As for the question you are asking here about user/customer dashboards here are two plugins that might help you find what you are looking for:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/frontend-dashboard/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/client-dash/

Hope this helps. Once you find a solution you are happy with kindly tag the thread resolved.

Hey thanks for the reply, so yeah like a said newbie, lol So within my WP dashboard I can just setup all my users their perhaps as a subscriber, awesome. I’ll tryout your 2 suggestions for a client dashboard, forgot to ask. Once the login and dashboard have been created, I assume under media in WP dashboard would it be possible for each user to have their own folder when their media that was uploaded is visible for my tech to simple download the specific folder and build the slideshow? Thanks again for the help

You may want to look into a Member plugin of some sort. Where folks signup and then go and get all crazy with the other stuff.

Privacy is going to play a huge part here and you’ll want their IDs protected, images protected and whatever else.

Look at BBPress, haven’t used it in years but things like that. From there people can create and manager their own accounts without accessing Admin dash where you’ll manage everybody from.

    Hope that makes sense.

I should think outside the box a bit more…. stefsterNYC has a point about the memeber plugin. Also about the privacy stuff. However, I do not see where BBPress could be of use… maybe I am missing something though.
