Since about a week ago (I guess there was an update?) I have found for WooCommerce orders for any new customer that the contact name in Xero is having the their email address appended.
EG Contact Name: “Joe Bloggs (joe.bloggs@gmail.com)”
The contact name in this format then appears on an invoice.

Note that while the contact name has the email appended, the “Primary Contact” and email fields are correct (separate).
Also all the details in WooCommerce are correct and do not have this behaviour.
Also the behaviour is the same for a (new) registered user as for a “guest” user.

    EXAMPLES

    Contacts › View Contact ›
    Edit Joe Bloggs (joe.bloggs@gmail.com)
    Contact Information
    Contact Name Joe Bloggs (joe.bloggs@gmail.com)
    Add account number
    Primary Person Joe Bloggs
    Email joe.bloggs@gmail.com
    Add another person`

    INVOICE (address)
    To
    Joe Bloggs (joe.bloggs@gmail.com)
    29 High St
    BERWICK VIC 3809
    AU
    Edit address

OK I guess this is related from the change log:

    2022-07-06 – version 1.7.43
Fix – Contact information is overwritten issue by adding an email address in the contact name.

    >>
Unclear if the above introduced the issue or was an attempt to fix it??

    Hi @pete4mask,

May I know which plugin changelog is that? I believe our plugin is only at version 1.1 at the moment.

I’m sorry – this is the wrong plugin.
I got here following links but I can see now I need to be at WooCommerce>Xero

I see that this has been marked with ‘Resolved’, but I can’t see what the resolution is. I have the practically identical problem, that I’m unable to repair.

It’s marked as resolved because this isn’t actually the Xero plugin support – it’s some other invoice plugin.

In regards to the Xero issue I’ve tried to raise it with WooCommerce however because I mustn’t have a current subscription to the Xero plugin they won’t log a case. However they did indicate it was a known issue so were just going to add my query to the existing one. Hopefully that existing case gets resolved!
