  • I’ve only just installed this plugin about 2 seconds ago, however – on the permalink settings page, it says:

The tags you can use is WordPress Structure Tags and ‘%”custom_taxonomy_slug”%’. (e.g. %actors%)
%”custom_taxonomy_slug”% is replaced the taxonomy’s term.’.

You don’t use %custom_taxonomy_slug%! you use whatever your custom taxonomy is called whether. So if your taxonomy is “actors”, use %actors% etc.

I have been having the same issue.

I’m using a custom taxonomy plugin, Custom Post Type Maker, to create an “award-year” taxomony for the custom post type “entry”.

I am trying to get the permalink for an entry to be:
    site.com/entry/2012/entry-post-name-here/

Instead of getting the “2012” year in the URL, I am getting %award-year% spelled out.

Do I have something set incorrectly in the taxonomy plugin? Does the permalink required something to be set differently for a custom taxonomy?

    Please help!

    I found a solution, partially.

I was hiding the taxonomy UI (show_ui = false) to hide the meta box. I am editing the taxonomy through an ACF metabox instead.

This caused the taxonomy to not be useable for the Permalink plugin! I don’t know why there is a connection like this.

Toro_Unit, does this make sense? Is the code written in this way?
