# Custom URLS example.com/dir/subdir

 * I anyone help me sort out this as I am new with wordpress I want to have urls
   as below:
 * [http://www.example.com/dir/subdir](http://www.example.com/dir/subdir)
 * Where [http://www.example.com/dir/](http://www.example.com/dir/) is also a page
   and other links should be like example.com/dir/subdir

 * WordPress doesn’t use directories or sub-directories. Perhaps you need to use
   [Pages](http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages) and child Pages?

 * I created the nested page but when I try to access the url example.com/dir/subdir
   it returns 404 error and also when I try to link to the page from example.com/
   dir I can’t find it in the existing content list.

 * I was able to set it but when I access the link it returns 404 error despite 
   that the page is available
 * eg: I have a forum page at [http://www.domain.com/forum](http://www.domain.com/forum)
   I set another page as [http://www.domain.com/forum/topic](http://www.domain.com/forum/topic)
   as described in the page you provided but now when I access [http://www.domain.com/forum/topic](http://www.domain.com/forum/topic)
   I get error: The page you requested could not be found.

 * I was able to do it now after adding /directoryname in perm link settings now
   I want a subpage for subpage eg example.com/dir/subdir/subdir could you please
   explain how to do this?
