    Hi,
When updating the plugin my custom translation files in my /wp-content/languages/plugins folder are overwritten.
Thankfully I have backups, but this shouldn’t happen.

Aanybody knows why this happens and how to prevent it?

    Hello @stickypixels,

Thank you for reaching out to our team, sorry to hear about the issues.

By any chance, have you seen our knowledge base for Translation files? You can read more about them here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/how-to-override-plugin-language-files/.

The files are usually overwritten during some updates, we recommend making copies. Custom Language Files allow you to duplicate any of the plugin’s language files, store them in a safe place on your WordPress installation, and prevent them—and any edits you’ve made to them—from being overridden when we release updates.

Let us know if you need additional help!

    Cheers,
    Nik
