Ehm. The months name is April in English, i.e. capitalized
@tobifjellner Ok so it’s most likely working already then? 🙂
But can i use this even tho Yoast recommends not using the shortcodes?
Deprecated Variables
We’ve deprecated these variables as we see no valid use-case for them. If they are used in the snippet editor, they won’t appear in the snippet preview, but they will show up in your source code to maintain backward compatibility. We recommend not using them.
Well. That’s beyond my knowledge. But a notice about “deprecated” means that sooner or later it probably will break.
The reason we do not recommend them is because they automatically update.
So this month would be April, but in a few days, would automatically update to May. Same for year, today would be 2019 but next year would automatically update to 2020. Depending on cache and how long search engines take to update information, these variables could be incorrect as well.
We haven’t found a scenario where automatically updating the month/year has SEO value so we deprecated them.
