Trying to upload a customized theme created by a freelancer for my blog. Have had numerous error messages while trying to upload. Most recent error is when uploading from a theme browse search reading:

    Unpacking the packageā€¦

The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

Freelancer said nothing wrong with format once script is changed to SQL.

Any ideas? Is this usually such a process to upload a custom theme?

I have had one issue after another trying to make this simple step happen.

Your disk space you have on your hosts server is quite likely running out of space! that should solve the problem. check out how much space you have.

In the worst case you must move your installation to a better server and in the best case you can just upgrade your hosting service plan (what I definitely suggest;)

    did it work?

    all the best

Can you unzip the theme .ZIP file on your local hard drive? (PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT usually means that the source .ZIP file is corrupt).

If you CAN unzip it, take these steps.

    1. Unzip the file into a directory "themename" (with the right name).
    2. Upload the "themename" folder to your server, into wp-content/themes/
    3. Login to your admin and go to Appearance -> Themes to activate the theme.
