  • the location should be:

    wp-content/themes/yourthemename/YOURFILEHERE

real example from the default theme:
    wp-content/themes/twentyten/onecolumn-page.php

    another user has tried it

Just tried that file out in one of my themes and it appeared immediately in the Page Template dropdown.

and as you can see, it worked. why won’t it work for me?

what is the name of your template file, and what are the first few lines of code?

    edit:
apology for the double questions – you could have stayed with your original thread to make things easier.

    the whole code

the template file is named TESTT.php

can you access and edit this page template file TESTT.php through ‘dashboard’ ‘appearance’ ‘editor’ ?

and when you make a new page, is the file under ‘page attributes’ ‘template’ on the right of the page?

are you using the theme ‘coraline’?

if so, can you select ‘Full-width, no sidebar’ from the dropdown list of templates?

if not, what is your theme?

    no

    no

like i said it is not showing up anywhere in the admin area

    i am using coraline
i can select full-width, no sidebar.

is your new template TESTT.php in the same folder as the full-width-page.php file of coraline?

have you tried to change the file name to testt.php?

(the file name does not need to be the same as the template name)

    thank you!
