[closed] Custom Taxonomy terms show up as "invalid" when I try to add them to a Nav Menu (6 posts)

The title pretty much says it.

I have a custom taxonomy term "Topics", which is otherwise functioning smoothly. When I try to add individual taxonomy terms from that Taxonomy to a custom nav menu (yes, on a custom theme), they show up highlighted in red with the word "invalid" where the term name normally would be.

I am using the interface found at http://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php.

I can still add categories, individual posts, tags, and categories. I can even add custom post type archive pages using the plugin "Add Custom Post Types Archive to Nav Menus".

If anybody has any information that can help me to understand why this is happening, I would be very appreciative. Thank you so much for your time!

    Is this the plugin?

If so, it is rather outdated.

Also, have you created a custom post type template and assigned that to a new page (can be blank) and then added that page to the menu?

Not yet, I'll try it though.

Well, the custom page templates worked. However, the wordpress menu system is still recognizing my custom taxonomy pages as "invalid" when I try adding them to nav menus. Still have no idea what this is, what is causing it, or how to fix it. Seems like I need to alter the options when declaring the taxonomy in the functions.php.

Has anybody else ever run into this problem?

Hi Sleneau, I have the same problem. Did you find a way to fix it?
