Hi,
Can you confirm you have correctly identified the custom taxonomy? This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables/#custom-variables.
If so, can you view the source code of the page? We ask as even though the Snippet Editor does not show it on the backend it may appear on the frontend. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/view-page-source-site/

of course, there is no other way out. I have a theme that use a custom taxonomy. there’s no other way! and this is question no tto page but to CUSTOM TAXONOMY PARENT and CHILD TERM 🙂
is I know is possible to add a meta data to custom taxonomy
I do this by this plugin : http://www.wpallimport.com/documentation/taxonomies/import-taxonomy-meta/but can i load (display) this meta data to custom taxonomy?: tnx.
Hi,
You can expect Yoast to output a custom taxonomy if it is entered correctly following this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables/#custom-variables. However, can you provide a url where you are expecting the custom taxonomy to appear?
How you do this?
I don’t ask about a custom taxonomy but a META DATA in CUSTOM TAXONOMIEShttps://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/get_term_meta/
Term meta data is simyply same story than a custom field related to posts!
can you confirm this? not a custom taxonomy but a TERM DATA INSIDE EACH CUSTOM TAXONOMY TERM tnx.
“custom fields for taxonomies wordpress” tnx.

they even make a plugin to import data to yoast : https://wordpress.org/plugins/yoast-seo-settings-xml-csv-import/
Hi,
Yes, provided it is entered correctly, we would expect Yoast to output the template variables of: %%cf_state_name%% or %%ct_state_name%% as part of the metadata on posts/pages.
However, sometimes the snippet preview on the backend doesn’t show this. If you added those template variables and the snippet editor fails to show it can you provide a url for the page? We ask as sometimes it still gets outputted into the source code (even if Yoast does not show it on the backend).
so i think is no working in the good way. I test it all day. I ignore yoast preview and i don’t see it on the source code. tnx. I will work and check one more time if it will work.
How you think It should work on any theme? yoast get this data straight from mysql and bypass theme settings to display a meta values? tnx.
Ok i test it
I add to yoast desc:test 1:%%cf_city_name% test 2:%%ct_city_name%%
and i get results.
<meta name=”description” content=”test 1:%%cf_city_name% test 2:”/>
so %%cf_city_name% will no work but in : %%ct_city_name%% i get empty noting i check this meta and looks ok saved in db. is any other way to check if i get correct value name
I try this plugin with you recommend via guide : https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-field-finder/ but this working only for post (don’t accept ID where ID is a custom taxonomy term” tnx. for help.
Can you please test this with any other custom taxonomies which are not specific from your theme to check whether this resolves the issue?
I test this in two different instances and two different themes. and on the both is no working 🙁
