Custom Taxonomies

Hey, I am having troubles getting the custom taxonomies to work. Basically I am using a theme that has a custom post type called projects, so I have selected that type of post to show (awesome). Projects have a taxonomy called “skill”. Under the custom taxonomy box in the widget it lists skill as one of the available options however when I type “skill=My Skill” (the skills I am using are names so they have a space and capitals) suddenly nothing shows up. Any idea why this could be happening? It seems like it should do exactly that, this plugin is so close to doing exactly what I want!. If it is of interest I am using themetrusts filtered theme.
